Blackhats.it is a spontaneously grown research community, formed by a group of people among which are hackers, security experts, IT professionals and researchers. Computer security professionals, with a strong relationship with the underground world and hacker philosophy, devoted to technological innovation and to the enhancement of Internet security. They act on their own, spending their personal resources and time for this passion.

Love for technological progress and knowledge, respect for deeds of the human intellect and tension to continuous enhancement, both personal and collective, are the seeds from which this group has born.
As for its main goals, Blackhats.it intends to propagate knowledge, research and development of new solutions, as well as an increased awareness of the important role computer security plays for everybody. The means chosen for spreading knowledge acquired through experience and experiment are meetings, conferences and technical papers.

Current members are actively co-operating with other Italian and foreign digital underground organizations, such as Antifork Research, Metro Olografix and Sikurezza.org. Others will join in the future, since the Blackhats.it community is open to all those who consider IT Security from non-standard points of view, far from commercial relationship and obligation and near the Open Source philosophy.
